Default Windscreen for Rode NTG-2?

This isn't really a ProTools question, but I hope someone can help... (I hope)

I'm using a Rode NTG-2 shotgun mic as a boom some filming I'm doing with an Cannon XL1. My question is, what type of windscreen should I use? I'll be fliming partly outdoors in an open field. Has anyone had any experience with the Rode "dead cat"?

Does anyone know of a forum that isn't digidesign specific, but answers audio recording questions?

Thanks!

You should always have some sort of windscreen on a mike while on a boompole. Rule being...... if the mike is movable during a take (indoors or outdoors), it needs a windscreen. What type depends on if you want to use your exsisting shockmount, or if you are going to buy the whole mount/windscreen as one piece, and how much wind reduction you need. Rycote Softie is the same as a dead cat, but probably better made and, will provide 22-25 db windnoise reduction.

Thanks!

I've been researching the sofite, and I think that if I find one to fit my mic, it might be "the one".
