Default 003 firewire won´t work on the front of mac pro

Hi very strange.
When using my firewire from 003 factory to my mac pro quad 2.66 the system will only work
using my firewire connection on the back of my mac pro.
Trying to used the firewire connection on the front will result in "increase your buffer" bla. bla.
I have set all up correctly, 4 processors 90 % and so on.
The firewire on the front is working when connecting to external disc but not the 003.
Using the firewire on the backside of mac pro to 003 is working excelent.
Very stranges...any ideas...???

Thanks

I have seen different posts about how the different FW ports behave. Just use the one that works. It is possible the connections inside the computer are routed to different buses. The one on the rear for that model may have a more direct connection to the FW buss. Keep the disk on the front.
