ProTools 7 LE Upgrade...Please Help Simple Question
I have a digi002. The last version of pro tools on my computer is 6.4 (which has stopped working due to my recent upgrade to mac 10.4) None of my authorization codes (the one that starts with DIGI0640) work as far as upgrading any further. I'm willing to spend to 75.00 on the PT7 LE upgrade. My question is, will this work? Does that software work as a stand alone software, or will it ask me about my current 6.4 version? I have the code for the 6.4 but it doesnt work anywhere else so i'm going to assume if i buy the software it wont work when prompted to type it. So will the LE 7 work on its own with out me having to use my 6.4 code. Thank you to anyone who can help me, I have gotten 20 conflicting answers about this and would just like to know if the 75.00 is gonna do the trick.

As you know PT 6.4 doesn't work with OS 10.4.
6.9.2 will work with OS 10.4. Pro Tools LE 6.7 and higher is a paid upgrade from Pro Tools LE 6.4 and lower. For exceptions, see the Pro Tools LE 6.9 Update Request Form There is no downloadable updater to Pro Tools LE 6.7 from earlier versions, or full download of Pro Tools LE 6.7, 6.9, or 6.9.2. The only downloadable updates for these are the Pro Tools LE 6.9 and 6.9.2 updaters for Pro Tools LE 6.7/6.9 owners. Upgrades to Pro Tools LE 7 for Mac OS X 10.4 and Windows XP for owners of Digi 002, Digi 002 Rack, and Mbox systems that do not have Pro Tools LE 6.7 are available from the online DigiStore or your local Digidesign Dealer. Upgrades to Pro Tools LE 6.9 for Mac OS X 10.3 for owners of Digi 002, Digi 002 Rack, and Mbox systems that do not have Pro Tools LE 6.7 are available from the online DigiStore. So I looked at the store and it seems to say you need to buy a 6.9 version for $175. But I can't find that 6.9 on the site. The update from 6.9 to 6.9.2 is $4.95. HOWEVER, looks like you can buy the 7.3 software for $75 and that will update a 6.x version. So it seems that is all you need. The web site could be a little more clear! You do need an authorization code. It would seem to be provided with the new software purchase. Best of luck.

I have a simular question. Really simple. haha. I have my authorization code that was in my getting started manual but i never registered when i purchased the digi002. I have had since, version 6.4. If i was to buy this upgrade to 7.3, will it not let me because im not registered or will i be ok because i have the authorization code to my version 6.4. Or do i even need the 6.4 code to download the 7.3 upgrade. I want to go to guitarcenter and purchase the 7.3 but i want to make sure it will work. Also is it still possible for me to register whatever it is i have to register this late in the game.

You do not have to be registered for anything to purchase, download, install, and authorize the upgrade. You only need to have a compatible system and $75.
