No more 9039,9129 errors So far!
I'm not getting the 9039, 9129 errors anymore....
And here's what I have, and what I did! Asus A8N-E Bios v1011.004 NVidia chipset driver’s v6.65 AMD 64 X2 3800+ oc 10% 1gig (2x512) 2-3-2-5 Patriot Ram Adaptec SCSI card w/ 2ea 18GB 10Krpm Drives LaCie Ext. 250GB Drive connected by USB cable NVidia 6200 PCI-E card Dual 17" displays XP Pro Sp2, ACPI Multiprocessor PC All XP Tweaks MBox 1 w/ProTools v7.0cs4 Battery 2, SampleTank XL 2, Reason Adapted 2.5 USB Midiman 1x1 interface LAN connected for Internet w/ firewall and virus protection After adding a fan to the side of my case, I thought to myself why do I need this extra USB cable that came with my motherboard? The board already has four of them, so I removed the extra set from the back of the system, the one that you connect to the motherboard pg 1-27 in your manual. I had my Mbox connected to it all by itself, which probably resulted in the errors. I then plug the Dongle into the 1st USB jack, and then the MBox next to it, followed by the Midiman USB cable, and last the LaCie drive. I recorded this large session @24 bits/48KHz “32 tracks somewhat heavy plug-ins use and I'm running it at 128 buffer, and before I removed the extra USB cable, It would play for a few seconds then stop displaying "increase hw buffer size" no matter what setting I made in the playback engine below 1024, it would display those messages. Might have been too much USB traffic/channels involved before? So maybe this might work for you, if you have the same or similar set-up. Chris |

Good info, thanks. I have totally forgotten about that USB extension thingy : I never connected it to the mobo in the first place. My system has been very very stable, I´ve mentioned it in many posts but forgot about this USB thing. If you still get problems, try disabling LAN and viruskiller at least when you use PTLE. They are well known troublemakers.

I'm Straight,
It would seem that I created what they call " bottle-necking" when I connected that cable up to get more USB connections, when I really didn't need them. Less is more, and if I get the errors again, I'll disable the LAN, Firewall and Virus Protection or do a dual-boot operating system... I was so excited about building this one, that I forgot to do just that... Create a Dual-Boot drive, DANG! Chris |
