Focusrite OctoPre Now Shipping

As the distributor for Focusrite products in the US and Canada, Digidesign is pleased to announce that the Focusrite OctoPre is now shipping.

OctoPre is the newest member of the award-winning Focusrite Platinum family. OctoPre provides eight pristine Focusrite channels routable directly to a Pro Tools/DAW and other digital recording mediums via analog outputs, or via either of two new optional, 24-bit/96 kHz A/D converters.

The Class A mic pres on each channel utilize the same full-bandwidth philosophy as the legendary Red and ISA mic pres, ensuring detail and organic clarity. Each channel also features a revolutionary compressor/limiter circuit ensuring total control over each of the eight channels. Starting with a brick wall limiter (to avoid those critical overs), the control then allows you to add increasing amounts of warm Focusrite compression. The first two "expanded channels" also feature phase reverse, as well as TRS quarter-inch inputs on the face for quick and easy, DI-free connection.

• Up to 16 channels of digital output at 24-bit/48 kHz, or 8 channels of output at 24-bit/96 kHz
• Two expanded channels with TRS quarter-inch inputs and phase reverse on the front panel. No DI required
• Eight balanced analog outputs on 25-pin, d-sub type connector
• ADAT Lightpipe; AES/EBU and S/PDIF 24-bit/96 kHz output options
