UPDATING Protools?????

I recently bought a macbook pro and its running on os x 10.5.7
and my protools is mbox 2 7.0 version how can i get a free upgrade to be compatible with os x 10.5.7 they have nothing on the digi site to help me, the grid just says to upgrade to protools 8 but i dont have the money

can anyone please help, greatly appreciated

I'm not aware of any free upgrades for something as old as 7.0. The earliest that Leopard is compatible with is 7.4 or 7.4.2. The jump from 7.0 to 7.4 was not free so I think you're out of luck.

Did you buy the Mbox new or used? If (big IF) the software was never registered, you could register it and you might get a free upgrade. This happened to me with a NOS Digi002 I purchased. It came with PT7 and I registered it and recieved a surprise email giving me a free download of 7.4. With 7.4, the 7.4.2 upgrade should be free so I would try to register it and see what happens.
