Default Control 24 main monitor out problem

The left side intermittantly gets a hum and volume drop on the left side. If I restart the Control 24 it fixes the problem for a while.

The power supply should be one of the newer ones so I don't think that is the problem.

Any ideas how to fix?

Thanks

You should contact Tech Support directly for further diagnosis.

Digi Tech support had been great so far. I am going to take her apart and clean the contacts for the Monitor section connectors.

Hopefully this fixes the problem.

Let me know if you fix it...
I've got the same problem here.

I had to hook mine into the ALT section for now.
Thanks,
Adrian

Adrian
We are going to try to get to it this week.
We have to pull the console out of the desk and get at the bottom. We will let you know how it goes and I can email you the procedure if it works.

We took the Control 24 apart opened up the back and loosened the power supply from the outside. Reseated and sprayed with contact cleaner all recommended connections. Turned back on and checked some LED indicators inside and all was a go.

Put back in the desk and hooked up and have no problems with the main monitor out for 24 hours now.

It seemed to go bad quicker than this before but we will wait a few days and see what happens.

If anyone else has had this problem I can send them the instructions from Digi if that is OK with Digi?

Thanks Winterland

We have the same problem. We have the most current power supply and we have disassembled and deoxidized all of the power supply connections. It worked for a short time and then the same problem returned, one side dropping in and out or dropping in level. We too switched to the Alt Monitors.

Just curious, what studio monitors are you using? We are using the Mackie HR824's. We are also using a Pro Co high end D-Sub to XLR snake.

We have another interesting thing happening. When the Mackies are set to OFF, powering up the C24 causes a VERY LOUD POP. I guess this is a know issue, but was curious if you are experiencing the same thing.

Hey Adrian, I didn't know that you were having the same problem. We should see if we can get this figured out.

Emailed both you guys instructions.

Do you have the Mackies set to auto turn on and off? We have the 824's and they don't pop if they are shut off, which we always do when turning the console on and off. We also have big Tannoys hooked up and they don't pop when shut off either.

Thanks Winterland
