Pro tools mp9 help

Hi,

I must point out that I am new with recording and also these forums ( first post) so please bare with me. Thanks

I have just purchased pro tools m-powered 9 to go with my Fast track ultra and I have been having difficulties with the recognition of my interfaces inputs. Specifically the front channels(which are mic/quarter inch...if that makes a difference) Anyways when I go in i/o it only shows six inputs situated at the back but not the channels at the front.(I can't get the ones in the back to work either)

I'm sure it's something extremely obvious, but as I said I am new.
