Default Help With PT MP 7.3.1 / M-Audio Profire 2626 /OSX 10.6.8

Hello All,

I am having great difficulty getting an M-Audio Profire 2626 to speak to Pro Tools M-Powered 7.3.1. When I try to open PT MP I get a message stating "No device Found".

Using Profire2626 driver 2.4.2 / Pro Tools M-Powered 7.3.1 / Macbook Pro 10.6.8. I can pass audio into the interface and only encounter issues when trying to open PT. PT MP7 work just fine with other interfaces.

I have spent all day searching forums and have noticed that I need to download 7.4cs3 or higher to get it to work with the profire but I am unable to download 7.4cs3 as I have PT MP 7.3.1.

Is anyone familiar of a way to upgrade from 7.3.1 to 7.4? Or have a suitable work-around?

Thank you in advance.

This is your problem. No version of Pro Tools (M-Powered, LE, or HD) prior to v8.0.3 was designed with Mac OS v10.6.8 in mind. This combination is probably not going to work at all. As for upgrading beyond v7.3.1, all of those upgrades were paid upgrades.

Default Re: Help With PT MP 7.3.1 / M-Audio Profire 2626 /OSX 10.6.8

Thanks for the response. It strikes my a bit odd where I have had zero issues when working with another M-Audio interface (Firewire 1814) while using PT MP7 and 10.6.8.

The error only occurs with the Profire2626. Perhaps the issue is with the Profire recognizing PT MP7 and needs to be atleast MP8 and up??

I do have a free upgrade to PT MP8, it might be obvious but would that be a step in the right direction for both devices? Please keep in mind that I would like to use either interface at any time so compatibility for both would be ideal.

Please excuse my ignorance as I have recently purchased the Profire and have never had any issue with other interfaces using the same OS and PT MP7.3.1.

Thanks,
David

Thumbs up Re: Help With PT MP 7.3.1 / M-Audio Profire 2626 /OSX 10.6.8

Register your upgrade for v8, install the last release (v8.0.5?), and see if that resolves your problem.
