Mbox 3 - can hear hardware inputs, but no sound from software
Mbox 3. Macbook Pro 13" 2009, OSX 10.10.3. Reaper 4.78.
Mbox app does say "Hardware Connected" and "Streaming" on the bottom. So I'm hoping it's something stupid simple that I'm overlooking, and not the fact that their latest Mbox driver is spec'd to be compatible with 10.10.2. The little green light next to input 1 flashes when I strum the guitar, and I see the fader meters going in Reaper. I can also hear the input if I raise the faders on the "Hardware Inputs" in the Mbox app. I do have "Monitor Input" checked in Reaper, and the "Software Returns" faders in the Mbox app are up. In System Preferences>Sound, the Mbox is selected for everything. I also tried it with Pianoteq standalone. The MIDI works, I can see the keys going in the Painoteq UI, and Avid Mbox is selected in the devices menu, but no sound.

Rotate the MIX knob to balance between incoming audio(what you wish to record) and playback audio(what is already in the session, including the click track, if you have one)

Re: Mbox 3 - can hear hardware inputs, but no sound from software
No mix knob on the MBOX 3
Instead, live input and playback level is managed by the MBOX Control Panel. The faders under Input control the level sent directly from input to output (live monitoring) and the Software Returns faders control playback from software. http://duc.avid.com/attachment.php?a...7&d=1395339607 You can have all faders up, and just hit the mute button above the Input faders when you want to disable live input monitoring.

Re: Mbox 3 - can hear hardware inputs, but no sound from software
I'm aware of all that. I'm just not getting any software playback sound.
Welp, I just got an XLR-1/4" adapter, so I can go back to my RME Babyface. (Sucks that they don't make a breakout cable with both XLR and 1/4" plugs. For a second there I was glad I held onto the Mbox. But I'm once again reminded of why I switched to another brand: Avid always lags a good 3-4 months on compatibility. Not sure why they can't make a stable driver that doesn't go south with every minor OSX version. /rant) |

DOH Didn't know that. I would be looking in the monitor/routing software then
