Default Convert midi tracks to audio

Hi all,

New guy on the block. Have a question that I'm hoping to resolve and need the expertise in this community.
I am trying to convert my midi tracks to record onto the audio track and I'm not getting any signal. So here is what my setup is like and a quick run down of what I'm doing.

I have a Digi 001 > 8x8 midi interface > Mackie 1642 VLZ3 16 Channel Mixer 4 bus > Orbit >Alesis DM5 > and keyboards > and my Mac. All in all my midi setup is config correctly for I am able to record all my midi data into protools midi tracks.

Now I want to convert it to audio/wave. I did some testing with one of my modules (orbit). Took a patch cable, plugged it into the orbit output. At the other end, plugged it to the mic/line1 input in the front of the digi 001. I was able to get signal and able record with no problem. So that works.

Now with the other modules that I use which are connected thru input line 3-8 on the back of the Digi001, I am not able to get any signal to protools. Mind you I am using the an onboard mixer and digi inputs and output are all wired thru my Mackie.

Has anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong? Is there a simple way or another way to do this?

I hope I am making sense since I have been up all night trying to figure this out. Help is appreciated.

Are you selecting the proper inputs on the Pro Tools tracks? If you have them plugged into 3-8, then you need to select inputs 3-8 on the audio tracks that you are trying to record.
