Default Headphones peeling

Hi All - What methods do you use to deal with the fake leather peeling off your headphones? Everyone here is tired of getting little flakes all over their heads. I've sat and peeled them by hand but it is very tedious. I can get replacement earcups but the headbands are just as bad and no one sells those separate. Do I have to learn to sew?
Thanks

For headbands, there are after market ones. On my Beyerdynamics, the "leather" headband started to deteriorate so I cut off the headband cover and wrapped it with an aftermarket one (that snaps on the top of the headband)

Earcups are harder. You'd have to state the brand/model. Some makers make replacement ones (like Sennheiser.) Others you'll have to find aftermarket if it has a loyal fan-following (some make/models do)

Good ones have user replaceable earpieces. Bad ones are so cheap don't bother. I am using Sennheisers (HD280 closed, HD650 open), mainly because I have used to the sound, but also because earpieces and cords can be replaced.

Earcups get replaced(hopefully, yours can be). Headbands are another thing but I found a universal leatherette headband that has snaps so it wraps around whatever you have and the snaps make it permanent(more or less). This flaking hit all my Sony phones(8 pairs) and I found Chinese earcups on eBay for dirt cheap(less than $5 per pair).
