Default Just one more on the PT12 upgrade. Bought last week. Activation question

Will your year start when you activate PT12. I bought it last week but I'm not working in my DAW at the moment so I might wait to activate PT12 until I start using it.
Also I saw when I purchased the upgrade I read something about by doing so you agree your card will be billed monthly automatically. Is that so? I should not have to pay another dime until after 1 year of purchase/activation.

You have until 15.02.16 to register and activate your license and your 12 months will start from the date you activate your license.

If you have a perpetual license, you will not be billed monthly. That is for the subscription model.

Where did you hear that? Avid have stated clearly that a few weeks into january will be the last date as some might have various hinderence to activate around the holidays but february, I wouldn't count on that.

Thanks to both. SO I shouldn't take too long to activate. How do I know if I have a perpetual license. I hope it's what I bought which is an upgrade for $199 (the only option) from PT10.
