Does anyone have one of these? It's supposed to be the latest and greatest.Possibly competition for a kurzweil k2600 but less expensive. I checked out there website but am wondering if somone has some personal experience with one. Thanks Stu

Thanks Roy, I'm embaressed to say that I didnt get the package sent until this morning.I guess I could blame my wife since she's not a DUC member an won't be reading this. I Think you might still get it by Monday or Tuesday.I do apologize,I had every intention of getting it out when I left work Wednesday.By the way I'm glad to see another one of your Entertainment posts. Talk to you next week Stu

My landlord owns an S80 which I've spent a lot of time with - and expect to own soon, and the Motif is more of the same. Delicious stereo pianos and orchestral strings, great acoustic instruments and drums, including a killer flute patch, nifty resonant multimode filters and terrific effects. It also has wonderful synth expansion board options so you can add even more complete instruments, three of them, with their own effects and patches. However the Triton/Karma is great too, as is the Roland Fantom, General Music Equinox and Kurzweil 2600. They all do wonderful things, so you'd have to say what you're looking for in an instrument and what's important to you. I can assure you that if you got any one of these instruments you wouldn't be sorry, unless there was a certain patch on one you wanted.

Love the motif. The sounds I use most often (pianos, drums, bass, strings) were the best sounding of any other synth I auditioned reguardless of the price.

$2300? For which model? There are 3. I wouldn't pay a dollar over $1800 for the motif 6. Are you looking into the 61, 76, or 88 key? I'd say it's a good deal for the motif 8.
