Default Mbox Pro Firewire to USB Converter

Has anyone tried converting the Firewire of the Mbox Pro audio dock to USB (so that it connects to the PC as USB)?

If so, what was your experience?

Cheers,

Hero

What he said^^^ If you computer has no FW connector, can you add a card(you mentioned nothing about the computer)? If not, then you need to consider a USB interface to replace the Mbox Pro. If you are running LE8 or older, that means the regular Mbox or Mbox Mini. If you have PT9 or 10, you can use nearly any interface, as long as it includes an ASIO driver(we are talking Windows, right?). Presonus VSL boxes and some of the Focusrite boxes, or the newer MOTU interfaces that offer both USB and FW belong on your list

Besides all that, Firewire to USB adapters will not work at all, with any firewire audio interface. The Mbox driver is looking for a firewire device. Two totally different technologies.
