Default Mbox 3 mini or similar with class drivers

Will the USB Mbox 3 units work without drivers? I know official support has ended. I am looking for something to possibly replace my old maudio mobile pre, which is also long out of support. It isn’t for Pro Tools, just for my office computer for iTunes connected to studio monitors for use during my day job.

A lot of USB interfaces are plug and play for basic functionality but it is hard to figure out which ones. The scarlett series is as well. I mostly want the mbox 3 due to the nice volume knob.
