Default 6.4 to 6.7 - worth it?

Don't know, I've been holding off for some time, but I'd like to give Beat Detective a run, maybe it's time to fork out the 75 buckeroos and get on with it?

Haven't upgraded to 10.3.7 either, still on 10.3.6, just hoping that upgrading both the OS and PT back to back won't give me any bad surprises. Your thoughts welcomed...

Salut PK,

The differences in 6.7 that I appreciate are colour coding tracks, ( keeps the auxes and midis away), I think the sample based or tick based may come in handy one day. Other than that, the u/g is minimal. My favorite is colour coding the marker track. Very easy to see where a verse becomes a chorus because the whole marker track is coloured. I can overdub without squinting at the old markers.

10.3.7 seems to be 10.3.6 with a new number. Works just as well.

Ha - I agree - I just upgraded last night - mainly because I wanted Beat Dect.... but the color coding, for me, was worth the upgrade on it's own. That's a nice feature that I was disappointed PT didn't have when I first began using it.

Hey,

I was having a more stable time of it with 6.7 and 10.3.4. I've seen that "Protools has unexpectedly quit" message enough times that I'm actually... uh.... expecting it... I've also been "losing communication" a lot on some larger sessions that ran fine with 6.4...

As mentioned, the color coding is helpful, especially in a big session. "Trim to fill gaps" is also pretty swank although I really and truly wish that there were a keyboard shortcut for it... Maybe it's a secret? Does anyone know?...

Anyway, Good luck!
