Pro Tools 12 + Mac OS + MIDI Studio + Patch Names
Hello, my favorite DUC brains. I have been using Pro Tools on Windows 7/10 for the past 8 years, until recently Win10 decided to inform me how I am allowed to use my personal computer... so Windows == fired.
I am now visiting Mac Town (High Sierra) and while everything looks pretty much the same, I am struggling with finding any information about how I can build a list of named devices in the MIDI Studio (recall, on Windows it was a dialog to set up instruments per MIDI port) This does not appear to be an option on the Mac OS. When I click MIDI Studio menu from within Pro Tools - per the usual process - it now opens Audio MIDI Setup - a Mac OS tool. Question (finally!) : how do I get my myriad of synthesizers listed in Pro Tools port selection again so I can have access to picking Patch Names? If this is unclear, let me know and I can provide some screenshots. I figure most of you will be happy I am using a Mac for the studio now :) Works pretty good! Who knew? TIA, John
