Default HDD choices

I have a OWC thunderbolt 4 bay drive enclosure and need to get a new HDD to go in it.
There will be 3 HDDs in the enclosure - audio, video, and SFX library / archive
The new HDD will be exclusively for audio. The most demanding role will be small to medium scale feature films.

Last time I looked, WD Black Cariar was the most popular option.
Are these still the best option, and is there anything else relevent I need to be aware of running multiple drives via Thunderbolt?

Default Re: HDD choices

My portable rig uses the 2-bay OWC Thunderbolt bay. Because I knew it was going to take a beating, I purchased Seagate Enterprise drives. They were more expensive than the standard Seagate drives, but they've performed really well being on almost all the time for 14 months, and being thrown in my bag when I move between studios.

Backblaze published a list of drives that have worked well for their cloud storage:

Their needs are slightly different than the needs of pro audio, but the report is worth reading.
