Avid video engine not installed... what\'s up?
I am opening a ProTools 6 Session where I used a QuickTime movie which I later deleted without deleting the video track in ProTools. When I open this Session in ProTools 7.2cs1 on my Mac G5, the movie is of course reported "not found" (which is correct). However, because I hid the video track in the original Session, I get this error message (file not found) every time I open the new Session (in ProTools 7.2). If I try to make the video track visible again in the Edit window, I get this error message: "Avid video engine is not installed.". - I never heard about any Avid video engine in ProTools. I am always using QuickTime movies when I do composing and sound design.
Any help is welcome! Helge K. |

Re: Avid video engine not installed... what\'s up?
Sounds like you need to make a new session, import everything EXCEPT the empty vid track, and be on your way
hope this helps, good luck |

Re: Avid video engine not installed... what\'s up?
Good idea Thanks!
(I am still curious about why the Avid Video Engine is mentioned in the error dialogue box. Maybe Avid will soon force us to use Avid instead of FinalCutPro for editing video???) Helge K. |
