Been running 10.14.5 since it appeared on Avid’s list. No issues.

I did the 10.14.5 update with PT 2019.5. It is very slow and causing my computer major problems. Started out somewhat decent, a little laggy (as to be expected with PT sometimes). Now if I as so much move a mix fader, the spinning ring of death appears.

Hi, welcome to the community.

Sad to say but you are in a minority here. Most have had great success with that combo. First thing I'd suggest is making a clean install of latest Mojave, followed by a fresh PT install and test again. Once verified that it is good, start to install (updated) 3rd party plugins one vendor a time, testing PT performance between vendors to make sure you know which plugins are causing you trouble.

The OP's original question is outdated now but 2019.6 and 10.14.6 are running fine on my systems.

Actually no, because not much have changed between dot-four and dot-six as far as audio is concerned. Bigger issue is that Apple has already released some supplemental updates over dot-six so when you say you have 10.14.6 there is no way of knowing what you actually have installed on your system. Now that Catalina is out I would expect Apple releases one more dot release so there would not be any doubt.

No idea what you're trying to say. But the latest 2019.6 and 10.14.6 work fine on the system in my sig and several Trash Cans, iMac Pros and Mac Book Pros at work.

That is an Avid approved combo (as was 2019.5/10.14.5) and has been very stable except for the STILL present multiple video bug (playing wrong videos) and the video engine failing to launch ALMOST every reboot of the systems.

I have taken care of the problem plugins (ones that are not compatible with mojave), a while back and am still having trouble. Perhaps I'll try everything again and see what happens. If it doesn't get any better, I'll start looking more closely into the computer to see if there's a separate issue there with CPU. Thank you!

At this point I would have assumed Apple had released a dot-seven already.

Yes, I have any supplemental updates that stay within a .x release installed. As far as I know 10.14.7 is still in beta. I never install until Avid updates their "Approved" list and certainly never betas on a production machine.

Today's always connected environment is why it's crucial that Avid stays on top of supporting the latest OS updates and patches. Gone are the days where you could afford to keep a production machine off of the Internet. With Cloud licensing, app and plug-in patches, iloks phoning home, receiving and delivering work, etc., you can't keep your machine off the internet and frozen.

So which is which? Avid does not qualify against supplemental updates, only the dot-releases.

Now with that said I haven't found any problem with the supplemental updates, but this dotsix is still a moving target. They should get dot-seven out of the door soon enough and then we would have the "last of the Mojave" while waiting for good Catalina compatibility
