ESI Maya 44 XTe PCIe

In my current set up I use my 003r via Firewire.

I would like to know if I could have the ESI Maya 44 XTe installed and connect to my 003r via ADAT.

It makes sense to me that a 003 (non rack) would need Firewire to control the mixer automation and display track data, but can the 003r work independent of Firewire?

Hi, I'm not positive, but I think you could get 8 channels of ADAT out of the 003 without it being connected via firewire. But does the Maya have ADAT capabilities?

Thanks for the response. The ESI does have and supports both In and Out ADAT but various sources have different opinions on whether the 003r works in Standalone mode so perhaps I need to contact Avid directly.
