Yet another Windows 7 question, different topic
When Digi finally supports Windows 7, do you think the original mbox will still be supported? EOSS for the mbox is 8.0.1 and i am sure that will be incremented when Windows 7/64bit support is available. Sucks balls.

Re: Yet another Windows 7 question, different topic
What's EOSS?
And I would guess it would still be supported, even it if's not supported. Huh? I mean, the word has two meanings - first one sometimes "not supported" means it just won't work, period. The other meaning is, it will probably work, but if it doesn't we're not going to help you fix it. |

Well when EOSS hit for the 001, that was that.

Re: Yet another Windows 7 question, different topic
Yep. Sorta, Long live the 001!
When Digi pulls an interface from the list of hardware that a version of PT supports thats it. No supported interface-no program launch. Key word is Version....I had my 001 running on 6.4cs9 on Win7-32 in March or so. I didn't check it extensively but it would play a Demo song. Had all the Air plugs and Free Digirack plugs installed too. There where some serious GUI problems regarding what PT needed to draw the windows and how Vista/Win7 draw the desktop. Your MBox may work in Win7 using 8.0.1 but chances are its never going to run better than it currently is under XP. I could see getting excited if PT and Win7 were going to offer a huge performance boost but I don't see that happening anytime soon. If Digi is dropping support than it pretty much guarantees that there will not be a specific 64 bit driver-although the 32bit one may work just fine.

Re: Yet another Windows 7 question, different topic
001's support died because there was a difference in voltage on the PCI bus from one machine to another, and they ceased to be compatible with a lot of the newer-generation computers. In fact, there's fewer and fewer motherboards with actual PCI slots on them now, most everything is going PCI-e. Kinda like finding iDE devices now, everything seems to have gone sata.
