Pay attention to about 3.10 into the video, just after he speaks the words "this color coding ..."

Check out how wobbly the touch screen is after he taps it. It's still wobbling when he starts the next sentence..
Ive seen Coffee junkies that shake less than that

So has anyone talked to a 3rd party to see if a driver could be written? Since Avid has abandoned this hardware, have they given their 'blessing' to let a 3rd party see about writing a driver?

Thanks.

Agree wholeheartedly.

They haven't and they won't! That would surely backfire their money-making scheme of forced obsolescence. Just junk your awesome and beloved control 24 and flock like sheep zombies with checkbooks at hand to buy the SHAKY breaky s6!! haha... ya right.

Full me once Avid shame on you.
Full me twice Avid shame on me.

Not spending any money on the S6. I learned my lesson with Avid and control surfaces.

In the end its nothing more then a glorified mouse. I now know why a few engineer friends of mine gave me a hard time when I bought the Control 24 in the first place. I should have just sucked it up and spent more money and got a console. The prices for the S6 are just a joke sorry Avid but its gotten out of hand.

No more Avid controllers for me. My Control 24 works just fine with PT 10 and if I ever decided to go any further with Pro Tools, I'll look elsewhere for a control surface. Whoever buys one of these new ones will feel the same when Avid EOL's it.

AVID I am considering once again to buy a control surface from you.
As a personson whos had every digidesgn product i have bought before last year now be made EOL,

AVID COULD YOU BE PLEASE BE UPFRONT AND GIVE US A REAL SET IN STONE TIMELINE FOR HOW LONG ALL THESE CURRENT ON THE SHELF PRODUCTS WILL BE CURRENT , OR AT LEAST SUPPORTED AND UNTIL WHAT VERSION OF PT WILL THEY STILL BE USEFULL TO US.

I'm finished complaining, I would like to know my options please and the realities of the specifics about them so I can make well informed decisions about my future.
I think that is more than fair. We would like the details so we can move forward with confidence as a Avid consumer again

we really need some answers only you have ,before we can move forward with this.

They've been extremely clear that they support all products for five years after they are discontinued and they do not intentionally cripple them in software after that.

I've never heard of any company announcing when a product will be discontinued in advance and I suspect in most cases they don't know themselves since the reasons could vary from critical parts no longer being available to a replacement having been developed. I also don't know of any other company offering hardware trade-ins.
