Problems recording Guitar In PT 8 with Fast Track Ultra

Using PT8 (with latest patch) & Fast Track Ultra (latest patch Win7 32bit).

When I connect my guitar to Input 1 on the Fast Track Ultra I can hear and manipulate the sound from the track interface in PT8, however when I go to record I get nothing from the output. No audio is captured.

In the I/O setup I have deleted all Inputs, Outputs, Insert's & Bus path's and reset them to default with the same results when I go to record guitar parts in PT8.

When i use my Axiom Pro25 via MIDI interface on the Fast Track Ultra that processes the input and output fine in PT8. When I use the Fast Track Ultra as my interface for Acid it captures the audio I lay down from my guitar..!?!?!?

I am perplexed and basically confused and frustrated. Can anyone give a guy some insight?


I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit with the correct drivers for the Fast Track Ultra.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.....

are you on a audio track or instrument track?

You need to record it on an audio track, not an instrument track

Use a mono audio track, and make sure the track is record-enabled (the little R on the track)

Dang me... That was it and that did it! I was doing instrument not audio. I'm new to PT if you haven't guessed by now. Thank you all for your time and help. I really appreciate it. Take care..B Well & enjoy!!
