Eh eh

From pro tools 10 on 10.6.8 I moved to PT10 on 10.8.5 because of UAD software

I am still running PT10 because I refuse to give up my Control 24 and don't trust the Neyrink software.

So I was thinking that if the VST to RTAS converters still work on current Waves 11 plugins (like Ovox for example), why couldn't we buy the VST versions of newer 64bit plugins and use the VST converter to run them in Pro Tools 10?

Am I missing something? Is it that none of the new plugins will work in a 32 bit ProTools full stop?

Next step is to see if I can upgrade to Windows 10 and still use my PT 10 system...

Thanks for the info. My concern is that I read that the Lynx AES PCIe only is working until PT12.4 ?, or is that just in Windows ?

Cannot answer that, but in case you need v12.4 you can just ask Avid Support. Avid Download Center has every version since v12.6 so that is already kind of "legacy".

Not a bad move. PT10 also works on 10.9.5 but isn't supported and uninstaller won't work. Just sayin...

Maybe someghing to do with PT10 and 32bit plugins? It is so long ago perhaps nobody is interested into coding a VST-RTAS wrapper that works with 64bit VST... just a guess, developer needs to get money out of the effort

You might want to use some features of the newer versions though.

But I know where you stand. I also have a PT10 live rig (HD3/PCIe) and a PT8 monitor rig (HD3/PCIx) and with all hardware there just comes a time where upgrade is not possible or practical. Just park it there and use as long as it runs.

I contacted Avid support Friday requesting PT 12.4. How long does it typically take to add on my accountant ?

Also why is it that only 12.6 and up is listed ?

I have 10/11&12 in my accountant. THANKS.

I have no idea how crowded their support team is in this COVID time right now. Maybe they have chosen 12.6 because that is the first version that requires DigiLink I/O license? Who knows.

I am still on PT10 today and it is rock solid and I see no real reason to upgrade into nowadays structure. Also I havve not problem with new waves plugins, so far I could install everything using an offline installer.
