Axiom 49 (2nd gen)

Not working at all in PT 11, works fine in PT 10.

After much searching, I can't seem to find any kind of fix and just hints that it might be a bug, and that M-audio might be working on drivers?

I'm running windows 8, have it set up the same in peripherals as I do in PT 10.
I got it to work (no idea how) for a bit when I created a new midi track; it started to control the audio track above. But I can't seem to recreate the anomaly...

Welcome to the Forum

You have record armed the track you are playing right?
And what are you trying to record? If it is a Virtual synth you need a Instrument track rec armed with the plugin you wanna play. No need for a midi track unless you are recording a external synth,

Setup a instrument track
Choose the instrument you want to play
Set it up on the instrument track
Arm the rec button on the instrument track and see what happens.

Also there is a setting that is called "midi thru" that needs to be checked

I have a new instrument track, with kontakt - reaktor (I have Komplete Komplete Elements, but it doesn't work with any instrument). I do have record armed, and I can play the virtual keyboard within the plugin, and get get response. But when I play my Axiom, I don't see anything *blinking, indicating there's a signal received.

However, when I create a midi track, I see an input response when I press a key on my Axiom.

I've reinstalled drivers from m-audio (they only have win 7 54 bit sp1 available)

Tried switching USB. Restarting system.

My setup now works fine in PT 10.

Also, did you mean MIDI thru? And where is that located? Thanks so much for the help.

I think midi thru is under options or settings tab. Check that before we move on please

Yes, looks like it was on by default. I unchecked and rechecked. Still nothing.

Have you been and checked that your midi keyboard is selected under midisettings in pro tools, under midi studio or something far down on the curtain there are some midi setting options and there should be a checkbox for your keyboard.mhave to be checked to work. I am not in the studio and can't check but try to find that and check your axiom there and try again.

Edit : here is the midi setting : Is the Axiom 49 showing up in Pro Tools> Setup> MIDI> Input Devices?

It is - looks like I fixed it... I had NOT armed the track for record. I thought I had. I apologize for being a noob, and thank you so much for taking the time to help.
At least... I think that was it. It's now working just great.

Hopefully, someone with a similar issue can wade through all of this and fix their issue.
