Midi notes disappear

Hey havent tried custom grooves on 7 but I know on 6.9 you had to save your custom groove quit protools and restart to see them come up in the drop down menu..
The MIDI notes dissapearing is annoying. Occasionally if you have the track height set to Medium the notes appear when you click them but not every time!

I have the disappearing midi note issue as well.

Yup same problem here - not until I highlight all the notes and they turn black but that doesn't do me any good


Please fix - I'm feeling PT 7 but I'm not feeling the whitish (grey'd out) midi notes

Does quiting Pro Tools, trashing preferences, emptying the recycle bin, restarting computer and re-launching Pro Tools fix the problem for anyone?

Trash prefs:
--DAE Prefs (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Digidesign\DAE)
--Pro Tools LE prefs (C:\Documents and Settings\...user...\Application Data\Digidesign)


If not, does anyone have a step-by-step recipe to reproduce the behavior? That is what Digidesign will need from us to fix this. I haven't been able to reproduce.

1) open or new session with midi notes on a track, in notes view
2) select some of the notes...be sure to leave some unselected for comparison
result: selected notes are white; background is white. While this is great if you are a polar bear hiding from elmer fudd in a snow storm, it sucks for us cause...well...duh...

Bottom Line: Digi needs to change the color used for selected MIDI notes. It used to simply be a lighter shade, now it is white. Hopefully the one who coded that will be sentenced to remain bent over for one whole day so the rest can stop by and kick him/her in the ....

Ok here we go step by step with a short term fix...

Create a new MIDI track, record a C Major chord on it.. select bottom note. All ok.

Now create more MIDI tracks copy region to those tracks and Oops when selecting notes they disappear:

In fact of the 20 defalt colours for Protools MIDI tracks I could only find 3 that allow you to visibly select notes. LOOK

So as a fix goto windows and show colour pallete and use the three colours shown below in the picture for your MIDI tracks...
