Default Muting a Routing Folder - Not Working as Expected

Hi, I read that if there are tracks in a routing folder that are sent somewhere else (FX send, etc), then muting the folder won't mute those tracks.

I understand that with a basic folder muting would indeed mute the tracks.

In my case, I need a routing folder so that I can apply FX, etc, but I really need to be able to mute all audio in a routing folder.

I have a basic session that has

video
video audio
routing folder - sound effect1
audio 1
audio 2

audio 1, audio 2 are in routing folder.

If I mute routing folder, audio 1, audio 2 play back. But I need them muted. I am brand new to PT, but as far as I can tell, audio 1 and audio 2 are not routed elsewhere. Or maybe they are automatically routed to master send?

Anyway, figure I am overlooking some really basic thing... I am Reaper user so I am trying to get PT folder to work how I am used to in Reaper (in terms of folder muting)

thanks

Check your routing. When you move tracks to a routing folder, you need to make 2 selections in the menu: #1-Routing Folder(because it usually defaults to Basic Folder) and put a check in the checkbox to actually change the routing

Ok, just noticed that the tracks' output was sent to Out1/2. Since I dragged the tracks into the folder I thought they would automatically have their output assigned to the folder. I must have done something wrong... thanks

No, you did nothing wrong. Its a flaw in the implementation that I hope will be fixed in a future update.
