Default 9.06/Mountain Lion Update Issue
I just reinstalled PT 9.05 on my MBP with Mountain Lion. I try to run the 9.06 update and I get a "Protools Not Found, This Updater cannot locate a valid Pro Tools installation on your system. Press "Close" to continue." message. Protools is a fresh install, permissions repaired. 9.05 launches fine. Also checked latest Pace drivers as well. I'm running out of ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Somewhere in System Preferences there is an option for what kind of software you can install. I forget the exact wording, but the essence of the three choices is this:
  1. Only from the App Store
  2. App Store and Code Signed
  3. Anything
Enable the Anything option and see if that resolves the problem.

Run the 9.0.6 update, and open the log window (Command+L), switch to show everything (Command+3), and paste the log contents in a post or make the log contents available on the web (i.e. Dropbox).

The installer is getting stuck in a loop, and it eventually realizes this. What is the path to your (supposedly non-existent) Pro Tools application?

It looks like I have two folders in applications. One is Digidesign/Protools/subfolders but no Protools app. The other is a Protools folder that does contain the app itself. Looks like the protools content is spread between both folders? Thanks.

I don't see that in the logs. If that is the case, that is most likely your problem. The path to Pro Tools should be /Applications/Digidesign/Pro Tools.

Hi all,

I'm running OSX 10.7.5, and running (well, trying) PT 9.0. I'm having this same problem when I try to install the critical update. Logs looks exactly the same. It gets caught in that loop, and "Didnt find Video Engine file at /Applications/Digidesign/Pro Tools/Video Engine/VideoEngineDIO.bundle."

However my paths seems to be all correct. Applications/Digidesign/Pro Tools is where the Pro Tools MP application is.

Any ideas?
