cross fade presets problems
I do a lot of cutting and I like to set up default fade/crossfade presets that will happen whenever I hit "f" some projects that were created before I set up the preset fades and started using this handy feature will not accept the use of them. For example-When I hit "f" it goes to my bin and looks for sound files that begin with the letter f-and I then have to go back to using "apple "F"" the work around is to create a new session and re-import all the tracks. But this only works some of the time. Other times I have to work some real mojo. Anyone have a better solution? Just curious.

Re: cross fade presets problems
The scenario you describe indicates that you don't always have command keyboard mode enabled.. it's the a..z button next to the tab to transient button. There are different command focus buttons throughout Pro Tools - look for them in the region list and the group list as well.
