8.0.3 cs2 crashing upon closing a project

Hey everyone, I just updated recently to 8.0.3 cs2 which thankfully fixes the waves automation bug and the write to end bug. BUT(!!!), now Ptools crashes every time I CLOSE a project (not quit pro tools). Anyone seen this yet?

I have had this happen. I was running 8.03cs2 with OSX 10.5.8.
My crashes were being caused by Cedar DNS One plug ins. Cedar advised me that it was being caused by my combination on PT version and OSX version. I went to OSX 10.6.3 and all is well.

Try removing your plug ins and adding them back in one by one until you find what is creating the crashes. It's most likely a plug in.

Yes I've discovered it is the Cedar plugin that is causing the issue. It is reminiscent of the Soundminer issue a while back with Leopard in that Rewire was not properly closing when Pro Tools closed a session. A quick fix is making the Cedar track Inactive before closing the session. Unfortunately, sometimes (intermittently) simply making the tracks inactive causes a crash on it's own. I think I need to downgrade to 8.0.1 for the time being. I am used to the 'write to end' bug that existed with that version of Tools. I am hesitant to UPGRADE to Snow Leopard because of the Canopus bug. I rarely ever use the canopus, but if I need to for any reason, I don't want to be searching the DUC for a workaround on that issue.

This bug is actually happening to me with PT HD 8.0cs3, on Mac OS 10.5.8. And I don't have the cedar plugins. It must be some other plugins that are active that are causing the crash, blank test sessions close without crashing.

Hi,

Serato Gate causes this with me! and its still out my folder now as they haven't fixed it yet.

But you'll just have to use trial and error till you find the culprit.

Actually after trying removing all plugins, reinstalling some, etc, I found that my session file itself was causing the crashes. When I created a blank session and imported some tracks from the offending session, it wouldn't crash when closing. Once I imported a few more, I would get crashes. I finally found that if I created a blank session and imported tracks in one by one (closing to check each one), the new session wouldn't crash. I've now been working in the same session now for over a day without a single crash (from closing ). So if anyone's experiencing this problem, try this out to see if it works for you.
