Default Handling large sessions when mixing.. advice??

Just looking for some tips to help with mixing large sessions.
I have lots of recording coming up.. I will most likely leave the same session open to record multiple takes and multiple songs.
My question is.. Let's say I mix the first song of the session and I'm happy with it.. How can I economically then use those same settings for the other mixes (songs in the same session) and tweak them as required? I know I could just leave the same session open but any changes would be saved.. I'm thinking it would be nice to have a separate session with each song and the ability to use the same plugs and settings from my first initial mix..
I'm looking for a smart method of working with mixes that are related to each other..
Any wisdom is much apprectiated.

Luts, use the 'save copy in' feature for each song (remember to check the copy all files / folders options). Rename the .pts file for each individual song. Open each song individually, delete other songs from the session, then delete unused audio (permanently, to avoid having x copies of the same audio).

The bigger your 'parent' session, the more time-consuming this process becomes. There may be a quicker way that I'm not aware of, but this should get you started.

Since you've got all songs recorded to one giant PT session, simply "save as" each song's mix with a new name. Happy with 1st song's mix? Save as "song1". Then, advance along the timelime to song2, tweak the mix, and save as "song2". This will preserve your plugs and settings. (hi wolfskin)
