Default Pro Tools refuses to quit

After using ProTools for awhile, Bouncing to disc etc. The program refuses to quit.

Intel Mac OS 10.6 PT 8.0.4

I also end up having to reboot quite often when opening Protools because it does not recognize the hardware (002).
