Default XP Pro Tools 6.7 Crash pn Startup

A quick heads up--if you (like me) can't open Pro Tools without Windows visually assaulting you (i.e. blue screen of death), try this--go to Control Panel-->Display-->Settings--Advanced-->Troubleshoot and set the "Hardware Acceleration" slider to "none". This fixed the problem for me. ProTools runs like a top now. I have yet to see how far up the scale I can increase this slider and still have pro tools work.

My question--is there some way I can prevent having to change these graphics settings every time I want to do anything besides record (i.e. games)? Here's my system specs:

AMD 64 3400+
1 gig ram
GeForce FX5700 (AGP GFX card)
MBox with LE 6.7 cs9
ABIT KV8 Motherboard

Any suggestions?

My only suggestion would be to post in the appropriate forum. Your looking for the LE forum, this is the TDM forum. Scroll a little further down the Main Index page and post again.

In my long PC + Audio experience (although my PT runs on Mac), I have found that good (but not the special highly tuned gamer boards) ATI graphics adapters are usually more friendly to audio applications. No wonder that is usually what you find in Macs...
