Default Synch i/o not being seen

I have used my Synch i/o from 2003-2018 to lock my pro tools rig with a studer A827. The Studer is in storage.
I have moved. I am working now in London on an Otari MTR-12 1/2" 4 track (15 ips) that I need to lock
with Pro Tools 10 via the Synch i/o as I did many, many times in nyc. Perhaps the synch i/o is unhappy
to have crossed the atlantic or to have sat unused for 18 months. The serial/host cable I have found may
be bad (it looks ok) Perhaps I should check the two loop synch cables - they are new, but maybe
they can be problematic.

Right now the Synch i/o is not being seen.
Does anyone have any experience with this ?
In NYC, I had several more technical people around the studio who
would help with these issues.

Using Pro Tools
on a 2.8 GHz 2011 Mac Pro with
HD2 cards and one 192 currently attached.

any advice
on a deadline with this piece
thanks in advance

be well
