Advantages of dual processors?
I was thinking of getting a new Powermac G5, a dual processor model. Can anybody tell me how that will work with Pro Tools LE. I know it will work, but how will the processors work together to my benifit? My currect PC(2.8G) machine bogs down fairly early on in my larger mixes and then I have to work around it. Will I see a substantial difference? I Know that Macs can process a larger load usually, because they are designed to do so. My perfect idea of my situation would be that one processor would run the program and the other processor would run my plug-ins, automation, etc. Can anybody help me?
thanks tre |

Re: Advantages of dual processors?
You may want to post this in the Pro Tools LE System on MAC forum.

Re: Advantages of dual processors?
ProTools does'nt use two Processors, you can dedicate 100% of a Processor to it, leaving the other for system tasks or whatever else you might be using!
The only ap i can think of that truely supports dual processor's is Logic Audio |
