Default Mac Pro 2010 2.8 GHz Quad Core vs. 2008 2.8 GHz 8-Core

I apologize if this has been mentioned before, but I can't seem to find a thread about these two particular models:

2010 2.8 GHz Quad Core Mac Pro (current)
vs
2008 2.8 8-Core Mac Pro (Harpertown)

They're roughly the same price now (eBay) and I'm debating on which one to get. I've heard the Harpertown is pretty much the bullet proof desktop for PT, but is it future proof?

Both machines I would max out the RAM completely.

What would you do?

Thanks in advance.
