Default Pro Sound Effects Essentials

https://www.avid.com/plugins/pro-sou...cts-essentials

Has anyone used this yet? Curious to know if a content list exists and if it is worth pulling the trigger. My collection is around 300gigs at the moment so I'm interested to know how much crossover is in this collection.

The current special pricing is $250 which is 75% off according to Avid. This puts it in a similar price bracket as the Odyssey Essentials and Hybrid Collections which are well respected collections.

Also interested to know if the samples are exclusive to Pro Tools and MC workflows or if they can be extracted for general use.

Thanks!

I downloaded the audio files. I was surprised to find they’re SD2…? Am I missing something? Is there a player I’m missing or something?

SD2?! The promotional page clearly says 63GB of 24bit/48kHz .wav files / 6.31GB 24/48k-192kbps MP3 files .

Keen to hear more on this offer. There's very little detail on the site on the actual contents. I'd be up for it if it isn't filled with stingers and sound design stuff - those are the things that bulk out a lot of the cheaper collections.

Ahhhh … so I just checked my sound lib drive … sorry, I was mistaken, I checked in the wrong folder. They are wavs.
They are a wide cross section, there some ambience but also many other effects.
As it’s free why don’t you just download them and see.
I still can’t sus if there’s a dedicated plugin player for the “pro sound effects-first” though.

Yes, I have that too - what I'm trying to find out is the proportion of effects in the Essentials version.

Same, would appreciate it if someone could post a track list or at the very least a category list. Is the library broken down in OSX/Windows directories or only in bins?

It looks like a good deal but I like to know what I'm getting when I drop three bills.

I'm in the same boat, if someone has a list or general folders description, I'd appreciate it too.
