Default PT10 File Recovery after HD Crash

After an accidental Hard Drive erase I just completed a HD Recovery and was happy to find folders that contained PRO Tools, Audio, etc. All the files have been renamed and are now looking like Pro-Tools 00001245, etc.

All file names have changed, audio, mp3, ptl, folders are all indexed in separate folders. How can I find my work now. When I try to open a PTL file it tell me that the ID is missing. This is a nightmare. Please help.

You might try to import the recovered audio files into a new session and check with Spot Mode, if the files retained their original/user timestamp (and their audio content).
I guess, trying to import session data from a recovered session into a new session will be of no success.
AND, always back up the sessions/audio files folder to another (external) hard disk (or even more hard disks). It is a good habit to do this every day after working on a session.

If the audio files are not playing in a media player or cannot be imported into Pro Tools, you can try to use Audacity and "Import Raw Data" (saved me once on a corrupted file).
