Is there anyway to use flip mode for sub-menus?

Is there any way to use flip mode to program the encoder(s) to scroll through the plug-ins rather than using the paging method?

I would like to:
1) Select Inserts
2) Go into Config Mode & select which bay to place the insert
3) Use the encoder from that bay to scroll through the list of plugs, rather than using the MUCH SLOWER paging method.

Has anybody tried that? Is there a macro that could be written to achieve that? All of the other controllers use the knobs to scroll through the menus. It's much faster. I don't know why our controllers use a paging method.
