I don't have a 'Pro Tools' folder in my 'Documents' folder.

I installed Pro Tools First and cannot get past the
"Could not create a new document because Permission denied (13) while creating "Pro Tools" while creating "Project Cache" while creating "2Ng3RcrKknxQXUrpGMR4Ed" while creating "raKgJFFOandI7OqN8V8o6b.ptproject".
"
error messages.

I repaired disk permissions on my system disk.
I made sure my user was assigned read & write permissions for everything inside the Pro Tools First.app in 'Applications'.

Nothing.
Nada.
Any time frame for when this will this be sorted out?

I really wanted to try Pro Tools for its audio chopping and this was going to be my first tryout to see if Pro Tools would fit into my very heavy use of audio slicing and manual wave clip file manipulation.

Thanks

late 2011 i7 mbp, Mavericks 10.9.5, RME Fireface 800, Pro Tools First (eventually I hope)

Oh my god it worked. I swear I checked this folder's permissions a thousand times, and I decided to check it once more after I posted this.

Finally.

With all these bugs, they should call it:

Pro Tools First Bad Impressions Suck-fest.... hahaha

I am wondering, why software called Pro Tools First, is more difficult to get into working order than PT HD system with interfaces and cables.

Secondly I am wondering, why there is to blame some other company with "known issues", and blaming that user has set his/her permissions incorrectly. It is Avid software and malfunctions are in the software.

If I recommend this program for any of my students, it needs to be bullet proof to install and operate. It is the first time they deal with installing any DAW. Do you really think it is good thing for ProTools, that its lamest version is horrible from the day one.

It looks best to hold back for 8-9 months, let the devs pick this up with a sensible test and fix schedule, it cant be representative of an operating DAW, surely ?

Here we are another 10 months later and this error still plagues many of my students who are using PT First. Does anyone have any insight to fix this error?

Just switched to Logic Pro X.
No crashes, no errors, faster.
