Default 8.04 wont load

Hello there, so I decided to upgrade from 8.03 to 8.04 today and now I get a runtime error when trying to load Pro tools. I have trashed preferences and rebooted a million times, run as administrator etc and nothing is working. Can anyone help me? Can I go back to 8.03? Im using an mbox2, my operating system is vista 32bit (unfortunatly).

In Vista there is no good reason to upgrade that I am aware of if you already have a working system. Did you clone your drive before making the changes?

uninstall Pro Tools and reinstall either 8.0, 8.0.1, or 8.0.3 and try again.

If your PC was made by a major manufactured you should have the option to RESTORE the PC to the origianl state, this will delete all programs and files by the way. Then try again.

Or if could be something simeple, do you have SP2 installed? If not.
Delete everything Pro Tools. Install SP2 Manually from the MS website, Then install 8.0, 8.0.1, or the Full 8.0.3 from your Avid account, then update to 8.0.4 again.

After deleting the driver manually, don't hook up/turn on the interface until prompted to do so during the new installation..

I managed to get 8.03 working again. I just uninstalled it again, went through my drive and removed everything not removed during installation. Then deleted all my plug ins manually, reinstalled 8.03, installed my plug ins again and the first time I loaded Pro Tools, I got the same runtime error message but tried loading again and now dont seem to be getting the error.

Thanks Benoni and TOM@METRO for your help.
