I have the Analog 192 and I understand the 16 I/O limit.
Does the 1st AES CARD take priority over the 2nd card?
If I am I a tracking session and not sending anything to the buses used by the 1st AES card I still cannot get any input from the 2nd card which is assigned to INPUTS in the I/O config. I'm not even using any analog inputs.
Just trying to get 8 AES inputs from another converter using an AES D-sub (tascam AES) cable.

You need to choose in the hardware setup. It is not anything automagical, but what you choose in the setup. You have more possibilities than the box can deliver so everything is up to you. What you decide.

JFreak thank you for your time but this is not getting me anywhere.
Am I not making myself clear?
The 2nd AES CARD IS ASSIGNED (only the inputs) to the 1st 8 AES inputs of the I/O.
The 1st AES CARD (slot 3) is assigned to AES 1-8 so there is a double up of sorts in the I/O config. Is this the problem? I would think not.
I am not sending anything in or out of the 1st AES card and have even turned the reverbs off so NO signal or clock info is active down those lines.
What am I doing wrong if this should work?

Thanks again for your time.
Anyone else care to chime in?

So you have the standard setup (8 analog inputs, 8 analog outputs, 8 digital i/o) plus additional digital card which is 8 digital i/o.

You cannot just assume that plugging a cable to the interface somehow magically routes it to Protools. You need to choose what you use in the hardware setup!

Possibilities are there. You just need to choose what you use!

OK. The HARDWARE setup... NOT the I/O setup. DUH!!!
I will check that this is configured correctly.
Thank you for all your time helping me with this.
It is truly appreciated!!

What JFreak said. You have to configure with the HARDWARE SETUP first, then move to the IO page to 'route' where you want everything to go.

What you want to do is possible!
