Newbie alert
Hello -
I am new to recording with a DAW and am making my first few steps. I've had some great help on here so far and would appreciate a little bit more!!! So here's my questions - I want to cross grade from Pro Tools express - I've found the pack on the Guitar Amp and Keyboard (GAK) website for £155. Does this sound right? Will that be everything I need to go to full pro tools? I brought PT express with the Akai EIE audio interface. Secondly - is Fxpansion D-Cam Synth Squad Virtual Instrument Software compatible with pro tools? Thirdly - Can I record my Roland TD9 drums PT's directly as MIDI? Sorry if this is in the wrong thread - any help greatly appreciated! Ta PC

Re: Newbie alert
Yes to all of your questions. Or so it seems...
1 - Pro Tools Express Crossgrade is what you want. I believe the 155 price will take you to PT 10, not 11, but I'm not sure. 2 - According to FXpansion it works. I have never tried it, but their website says it's OK. 3 - All you will need is a MIDI interface. Just like plugging a guitar into an audio interface, you need a box to transfer MIDI into your computer. If the TD9 uses USB, then you won't need it. But I don't know the TD9. I have a keyboard controller that uses USB so I plug directly into a USB hub. Hope that helps. Have fun!! |
