Default Re: Problem using 3 card system in a mixture of PCI-x and PCI slots

Here's a dual processor board that has 3 PCI-x slots.
I'm just fishing for tips at the moment, but is there any obvious reason it wouldn't work with HD3 PCI?

Thanks.

If you can find it, it looks like it would work.

When I was shopping, I was specifically looking for an i7 compatible board with triple channel memory.

Are there any specific advantages with an i7 board versus a dual xeon board?
Other than price differential: the dual boards seem to be more expensive, and you have to (of course) buy 2 CPUs...

Price is a big factor. Others factors are heat, cooling, power consumption, noise, upgrade path, and overclocking ability (not a huge factor for me). I also think the Xeon requires more expensive ECC registered RAM.

Maybe some more experienced builders will chime in with some more information for you.

I already knew from ploughing thru Newegg's listings for LGA Socket 1366 boards that there is no ATX form factor with 3 adjacent PCI-x slots, and have now verified the same unfortunate state of affairs for 3 adjacent PCI slots.

Adjacent PCI slots are no longer required. I have a solution. Contact me if interested.

Recently, I think some of the plug-in abbreviations were changed to make the plug-in easier to identify. I was using minigrand as well.
