"EUCON Personality could not be loaded" Error?

Hello all!

I just purchased a lovely Euphonix MC Control V1 yesterday, but cannot seem to get Pro Tools to recognize it/work.

It works fine on other apps like Safari etc but when I try to enable EUCON it does not seem to want to play nice.



The above message comes up.

I've logged with Avid support and their help has not yet fixed it, but waiting on a response to my last email so thought I'd put it here to see if anyone has a fix?

I'm on 10.6.7 and I've trued both 2.5.6 and 2.5.7 to no avail. And on Pro Tools 9.0.2.

Any help would be very much appreciated as I have a mix to do tomorrow and would love to have this puppy up and running!

Hi,

You could run Onyx to clean up your permissions, and also trash ALL the Pro Tools preferences. There is a tool on this forum for that too...
Database and prefs helper.

Also, you should REBOOT the computer once you've deleted the preferences and cleaned up caches / permissions, etc.

Lastly, once your EuCon software sees your MC Control correctly, you should check it's firmware versions, and update it if necessary.

This sounds like a corrupt EuCon personality. I've uploaded a new copy of it - download it, unzip it, trash the one currently in the Controllers folder inside your Pro Tools folder, put this one in it's place, trash preferences, restart and try again.

Hmm. Ok, can you try this?

Navigate on your system hard drive to Users>your account>Library>Preferences and place the following files in the trash:

com.euphonix.eucon.plist
com.Euphonix.EuControl.plist

com.euphonix.install.EuControl.plist

If that still doesn't work, go to the Euphonix folder in your applications folder and run the uninstaller, restart and reinstall 2.5.7. You probably should trash those same preferences files and Pro Tools preference files after doing so, restart, and test again.

That fixed it :) All up and running, thanks for your help!


Anyone experiencing the same problem, do exactly the above and it should fix it.

I'm getting this Personality problem everytime I try to Automap RTAS plugs to use with Automap 3.

I've had some luck trying to load PT with out eucontrol running.. then shut down.. and restart pt after turning it on again..

But the sequence doesn't always work.
