Default Plug-in Delay .. always shows zero but delay is audible

Hi there... and thanks in advance for any help.

I'm experiencing audible plug in delay in LE... it's very noticeable.
Problem is when I check to see what the delay is on each channel, the reading is always 0.
Pro Tools is telling me there is no delay even when I fill all inserts with processing and I can here a huge delay... Am I missing something here?
Have I done something wrong or is PT at fault?
I'm running version 7.4 on a macbook. The Audio is running from an external drive.
Any help is appreciated!!

Adam

Firstly not all plug-ins induce a delay. For example, Digi EQ and Dynamics don't. Which plug-ins are we talking about here?

Secondly, you've cmd clicked the volume meter twice, right?

Yes, I have the right display for plug in delay... I toggle the display until I can see all track's delay... but all say zero.
I understand some plugins don't create a delay but I've instantiated 4 inserts of PSP vintage warmer and still the reading is zero... the delay is very audible.. would likely be in the 100s of samples... but all channels are reading zero..

Very frustrating because I can't get a clear idea of how much time adjustment to add to the tracks.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Adam

At least there is a workaround. Use Audiosuite plug ins, or for RTAS, do a temp recording of the track with plugins to a new track, then compare the physical difference and distance of waveforms and adjust. A pain in the @%& though. Report this issue as a bug to Digi.

This is not a Digi bug, as not all plug-ins know how to report their delay. The OLD version of PSP VW was one of those from what I remember, however v2 reports it just fine, at least on my rig. If you're running any version of PT7, you need the PSP VW v2 version for compatibility anyway, the old one isn't PT7 friendly.
