Dock with Artist Control

I'm getting an error:
"Incompatible surfaces
This operation can not be completed. A Dock unit cannot be added to a "My surfaces" list containing one or more Control units."

aren't they supposed to work together?

No, The Dock Replaced the Artist Control.

hey man, I understand the frustration in that you have the Artist Control and want to utilize it and the additional faders. That being said, you'll find the Dock to be superior in almost every other way. My suggestion is to sell the Artist Control and grab an Artist Mix to complement the Dock. Cost wise, you can probably get away with a 1 for 1 swap when all is said and done.
