I master in Pro Tools using plug-ins from Waves (Mastering Bundle, Q-Clone, S1 and L3), Elemental Audio's Firium, Digi EQIII, and Sony's Oxford Inflator mostly. Sometimes depending on the song I'll use PSP's Vintager Warmer (it can really glue a track well, but often I find the low end to not be as punchy after using it). I bounce with dither and burn my tracks with CD Architect.

Default Re: Multiband compressor

I have some questions about mastering too.

To take a closer look on the process, what do you do? For instance, I open my mix in Cool Edit Pro 1.20 to apply some EQ on the master if necessary. What I always do is applying the Puncher from Wavelab (2.02, pathetic but alas ) but that's not really much of a mastering action.

Someone showed me a multiband compressor; makes it sound mucho sharper. What else do you do for mastering and can someone give me a few brands of Multiband comps and more?

Walther.
